SMK-Link Adds Ergonomic USB Keyboard and Mouse to Family of TAA Compliant Computer Input Devices

November 30th, 2017, Camarillo, CA--SMK-Link Electronics, a subsidiary of SMK Electronics Corporation U.S.A., today introduced two new Trade Agreements Act (TAA) compliant computer peripherals: the TAA Compliant Ergonomic USB Keyboard (model VP3825) and the TAA Compliant Ergonomic USB Mouse (model VP3830). Designed to reduce the repetitive wrist strain associated with extended computer use, SMK-Link’s new ergonomic keyboard and mouse allow government and military agencies to provide their organizations with ergonomic input devices designed to reduce repetitive strain injury and the loss of productivity associated with it.

“According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) are the nation's most common and costly occupational health problem, affecting hundreds of thousands of American workers, and costing more than $20 billion a year in workers compensation,” said John Blair, General Manager of Branded Products for SMK-Link Electronics. “Our new TAA Compliant Ergonomic Keyboard and Mouse give government and military agencies a great choice when supplying their organizations with GSA-scheduled, TAA compliant input devices.

“Contoured to support each hand individually, our new TAA Complaint Ergonomic USB Keyboard helps reduce wrist strain while typing,” continued Mr. Blair. “Pairing naturally with the keyboard, the 5-button Ergonomic Mouse (right & left-handed models) uses its vertical orientation to reduce finger travel when pressing mouse click buttons. Further, its selectable resolution (switchable ‘on the fly’ from 800 to 2400 dpi) eliminates unnecessary desktop mouse travel. Together, these two new TAA compliant peripherals give our GSA Schedule customers effective tools to help reduce repetitive strain injury within their organizations.”

SMK-Link Electronics Introduces TAA Compliant PC Keyboards, Mice and Card Readers at CES 2016

January 7th, 2016, LAS VEGAS--SMK-Link Electronics, a subsidiary of SMK Electronics Corporation U.S.A. is introducing a new family of Trade Agreements Act compliant computer peripherals at International CES 2016. SMK-Link’s new VP3800 Series, which includes TAA Compliant PC keyboards, mice and smart card readers, is being featured this week at CES16 (booth #20400, South Hall-1, LVCC).

“With so many computer products manufactured in China, it has become increasingly difficult for companies to find stand-alone TAA compliant PC peripherals,” said John Blair, General Manager of Branded Products for SMK-Link Electronics. “Supporting the fulfillment of GSA orders for PC keyboards, mice and card readers, our new VP3800 Series gives federal agencies, the military and their suppliers, quality PC input devices certified to be TAA Compliant, and supported by a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.”

As mandated by the U.S. Trade Agreement Act, government agencies and affiliated entities with federal contracts are required to purchase only “end products” manufactured (or substantially transformed) within the United States or other TAA designated countries. Products so provided must be accompanied by a certification of compliance from the supplier. Meeting these requirements, SMK-Link’s new VP3800 input device series joins the company’s growing family of TAA Compliant solutions, including RemotePoint® Professional Presentation Remote Controls and Gyration® Air Mouse® products.

TAA Compliant PC Keyboard with Integrated Card Reader

SMK-Link’s new VP3800 WHQL-certified USB keyboard hosts 104 tactile-feedback keys, a dedicated numeric keypad, and an integrated PC/SC FiPS 201-compliant smart card reader that supports Card Terminal (CT/API) and Common Access Card (CAC) applications.

TAA Compliant USB Smart Card Reader

The new VP3805 is a PC/SC FiPS 201-compliant USB smart card reader. ISO7816 certified, the VP3805, which supports Home Banking (HBCI), Card Terminal (CT/API) and Common Access Card (CAC) applications, is designed for federal agencies, the Department of Defense (DoD), and other organizations using card-key security/access applications.

TAA Compliant PC Keyboard & Mouse

SMK-Link’s new VP3810 WHQL-certified USB keyboard hosts 104 tactile-response keys and a dedicated numeric keypad. Equipped with page navigation, special function and Windows® logo keys, it provides LED indicators for Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock modes.

The accompanying USB mouse, the SMK-Link VP3815, offers 3-button navigation and an integrated scroll wheel. Together, this keyboard and mouse constitute an ideal solution for government agencies and suppliers requiring stand-alone PC input devices manufactured to TAA requirements.

About SMK-Link Electronics

SMK-Link Electronics, a subsidiary of SMK Electronics Corporation U.S.A., is a global supplier of PC input devices and mobile device peripherals. In addition to its new VP3800 Series of TAA compliant PC input devices, SMK-Link leads the industry with its award-winning RemotePoint® presentation remote controls and Gyration® Air Mouse® products.
